What do I need to cast off my knitting?
You don’t need much to cast off your knitting – all you’ll need is your knitting yarn, the needles you’ve been working with, a darning needle and a pair of scissors.
How do I cast off my knitting?
Knit two stitches in your pattern (for example, knit one, purl one if you’re working in stocking stitch).
Take your left needle and slip it under the bottom stitch on your right needle.
Bring this bottom stitch over the top stitch and slip it off the needle. You should now only have one stitch on your needle.
Knit another stitch in your pattern from your left onto your right needle. Repeat the process above: slip the bottom stitch over the top and off the right needle.
Repeat under you only have one stitch left on your right needle and no stitches on your left needle.
Cut your yarn, leaving about a 10cm trail at the end of your work.
Slip your final stitch off your needle and pull your yarn tight.
Darn in the end of your yarn with your darning needle along the edge of your work to hide it.
